THE WIFE WHO IS THE CROWN OF HER HUSBAND

“A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.”

There are wives, who are crowns of their husbands. There are also wives, who are like rottenness in their husbands’ bones. I heard about a general, who fought tough battles, made sacrifices, and walked through the valleys of the shadow of death. Due to his commitment and sacrifices for his leaders, soldiers, and country, he was promoted one position to the next all the way to the rank of a general. He was respected by all. However, his wife was known to dishonor him. Although she did not have knowledge or experience related to warfare, she was respected as her husband was. However, she lacked self-awareness and thought of herself as superior to others, including her husband. Her pride was evident to all. Over time, people lost respect for not only her, but also her husband. Likewise, I also knew a pastor who was well-respected. Unfortunately, he had a wife who disputed and spoke against her husband in church businesses and created problems in ministries for the church and also for her husband.
Reflection
God desires that wives are helpful to their husbands. Am I a wife, who is the crown of my husband? It is extremely important that church leaders have wives as their crowns in their homes and their churches.
Prayer
Dear God, thank you for giving us leaders with godly wives. May the husbands rejoice in their wives, who also are their crowns. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
