ကညီမိၢ်ပၢ်အါဂၤအိၣ်ဒီးတၢ်ဂ့ၢ်ကီလၢကဒုးဒိၣ်ထီၣ်အဖိလၢ တၢ်ဆဲးတၢ်လၤလၢအလီၤဆီဖးဒိၣ်လၢ အဝဲသ့ၣ် အတၢ်ဆဲးတၢ်လၤန့ၣ်လီၤ. တၢ်လီၤဖျဲၣ်လီၤဟိအိၣ်လၢ မိၢ်ပၢ်ဒီးဖိအဘၢၣ်စၢၤ လၢစိၤတစိၤဘၣ်တစိၤအတၢ်လီၤဆီ, တၢ်ကူၣ်ဘၣ်ကူၣ်သ့, ဒီးကျိာ်အတၢ်ကတိၤဒၣ်လဲာ်န့ၣ်လီၤ. လၢပှၤကညီအတၢ်ထံၣ်န့ၣ် တၢ်ဂ့ၢ်ကီတဖၣ်အံၤကီခဲလၢ ကညီမိၢ်ပၢ်အဂီၢ်လၢကဘၣ်လဲၤခီဖျိဝဲန့ၣ်လီၤ. သနာ်က့, ယၤကိာ် ၁:၅ ဒုးသ့ၣ်နီၣ်ပှၤလၢ, ‘‘ဒီးသုဝဲသ့ၣ်တဂၤဂၤန့ၣ်, န့ၢ်တၢ်ကူၣ်သ့ကူၣ်ဘၣ်အလီၢ်မ့ၢ်အိၣ်ဒီး, မ်အဃ့လၢယွၤ, လၢအဟ့ၣ်တၢ်ညီလၢပှၤခဲလၢာ်ဒီးတဒုၣ်ဒွဲၣ်ဘၣ်တၢ်ဘၣ် န့ၣ်တက့ၢ်, ဒီးကဟ့ၣ်အီၤလီၤ.’’ မ်ပကဃ့သကိး, “ဒီးပကမၤဖိသၣ်လၢအကအိၣ်ဖျဲၣ်တဂၤဒ်လဲၣ်ဒ်လဲၣ်န့ၣ်သိၣ်လိ ပှၤတက့ၢ်.” ကစၢ်ယွၤကသိၣ်လိပှၤလၢပကဘၣ်ဒုးဒိၣ်ထီၣ်ပဖိတဖၣ်ဒ်လဲၣ်ဒီးပကဘၣ်မၤအဝဲသ့ၣ်ဒ်လဲၣ်န့ၣ်လီၤ.

WHAT SHALL WE DO WITH THE CHILD GOD HAS GIVEN US?

Once there was a mother who could not conceive after being married for a long time. In human eyes she was barren. One day an angel of God appeared to her and said to her “ I know you are barren but you will become pregnant and give birth to a son. He shall not touch any drink and his hair shall not be shaved. He shall not touch any unclean things.” After hearing the angel’s message, she was overjoyed and shared with her husband that she would give birth to a son. Although her husband was happy to hear the news, he was not satisfied with just hearing from his wife. He wanted to make sure he heard it directly from the angel. He asked God to send the angel again so that he could hear the news directly from the angel. The angel of God appeared to the man as he requested. Both the husband and wife were overjoyed with the news of the baby boy who was to be born. Before the baby was born, they prayed to God: “Teach us what we should do to the child who shall be born.” God gave them instructions on how to raise the child.
Many Karen parents struggle with raising their children in a culture so fundamentally different from what they are used to. There are generational, educational, and even language gaps that Karen parents are having to grapple with on a daily basis. In human eyes these parental challenges are hard to overcome. However, James 1:5 reminds us, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” Let us ask God, “Teach us what we should do to the child who shall be born.” God will surely give us instructions on how to raise our children.
Reflection
Are you struggling in parenting? We, the parents, who received our children as a gift from God, can always ask Him for wisdom to raise our children in the way of the Lord.

Dear God, we pray that you will grant us wisdom how to raise our children in the way of the Lord. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
