LORD, YOUR FAITHFUL LOVE ENDURES FOREVER

Bible in a Year: Daniel 11:2-35; 1 John 4:7-21; Psalm 138:1-8

“The Lord will work out his plans for my life—  for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.
Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”
Psalm 138:8

All of us go through many experiences in life and they are each different and unique. I am the eldest of twelve siblings. Being the eldest child, I was expected to help my parents in every way that I could. On the other hand, my siblings had the opportunity to learn to pursue their interests.

In 2001, God gave me a loving man to marry. He was also a man of few words. When I was pregnant with a child, both he and I became sick and we had to be hospitalized. It was such a trying time that I was very concerned my pregnancy would miscarry. We also did not have any money so I could only afford to eat plain rice and vegetables. By God’s grace, I delivered a healthy baby girl and I was able to recover well. However, we had to move to a refugee camp in Maela, Thailand, in 2003. It was difficult to earn money, much less find work. In 2004, my husband and I were again blessed with a son. We sold meat and vegetables to get by. There was an occasion where we did not have enough money to  buy or sell goods. We were helpless. I went to visit an elder in the community to ask for a loan. I told him that I did not have any money but if he loaned me some money, I would definitely repay him. I believe God touched the elder’s heart and he gave me the amount that I needed. Then in 2007, God let a miracle happen. He sent us to America. God prepared great and wonderful things for us. We now have a house, we have jobs and our children are able to receive education. I tear up whenever I think about the amazing things God has done for my family. When I look back on my life, I realize God never left me alone. He led me, He encouraged me, He gave me a wonderful husband and children who fear God. I do not know a lot of things but one thing I know for certain is that He sustains me and does great and wonderful things in my life.

Reflection

 When we are overwhelmed with problems, how do we remind ourselves that God’s faithful love for us endures forever?

Prayer

Father God, do not forsake us but have mercy on us. We praise You and thank You always. Walk with us LORD. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
