THE LIFE-GIVING DEW

Bible in a Year: Daniel 47, Daniel 48; 1 Peter 4; Psalm 133:1-3

“Like the dew of Hermon, that comes down on the hills of Zion; for there Yahweh gives the blessing, even life forevermore.”

Mount Hermon is a high mountain and the Jews lived around the mountain. The dew that came down from Mountain provided water for people and animals and made plants grow. Mount Zion, on the other hand, is where the Jews built the Lord’s temple. For Christians, Zion represents the church. Just as the life-giving dew streams down these mountains, blessings must also flow from our lives in the forms of loving God, loving our neighbors, upholding the truth, and promoting peace. I love Psalm 133:3 because it comforts me. I am a blessed child of parents who loved the Lord and taught me the way of the truth to please God. Although my father had no education, he was very wise to me. Whenever he was free, he taught us about the Bible. He conducted daily family prayer. God endowed him with the gift to memorize scriptures and sing hymns. He served as an elder in the church. He loved his family and was very hospitable. In providing for the family, my father never complained. He valued his children and showed great examples of what it means to love God and be true to Him up to the end of his life.  My father left a legacy that is a blessing to his children. My father’s life flowed down a life-giving dew for his children. The grace of God never passes us. We are always blessed. 

Reflection

Although life is not smooth, God’s blessings never lessen for us. 
Count your blessings and share them with your family members.

Dear God, we thank you for your provision and guidance in our lives.
