GREET ONE ANOTHER WITH A HOLY KISS

“All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. This greeting is by me, Paul, with my own hand.”

Everyone needs encouraging and praising words from one another. In 2017, I graduated from Kawthoolei Karen Bible School and College. In the same year, I started serving as the head of a dormitory. In the work that I do, I face many challenges for many reasons that are very discouraging. But, why am I able to continue serving? Because I have a person who greets me with a holy kiss. A holy kiss here does not mean kissing physically. It is holy words that bring warmth, praises, and encouragement.

The person who often lifts me up and encourages me is Moe Moe Htoo. She calls me ‘Son’ and greets me with a holy kiss. Her words that I will never forget are, “You are doing your best. Continue to work harder. I am praying for you.” We all need this kind of holy and praising encouragement. Paul himself always applauded and inspired co-laborers and church members through the warmth of a holy kiss. Even when he could not go see them face-to-face, he would write to them.   

Reflection

Praising and greeting one another with a holy kiss encourage people to continue serving. Today, is there someone you need to greet with a holy kiss? 

Prayer

Dear Father God, please give us the heart to encourage others with praises and a holy kiss so they will be strengthened to keep on serving You.
