TEACH ME YOUR WAY
Bible in a Year: Amos 6, Amos 7; Romans 4:16-25, Romans 5:1-11;
Psalm 86:11-17
“Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.”
Psalm 86:11 NLT
We can glean from this scripture that David wanted to know God more and depend on the truth from God Himself, and not the law he already knew. To know God’s truth, the best way is to study the Bible, which reveals the secrets of living. The Bible teaches us about God and His purpose for us. David himself sought to understand God’s plan and purpose for him to depend on the truth of God, draw his heart very close to God, and remain steadfast in God.
In 2019, my father was diagnosed with cancer. Family members, church members, and friends all over the world prayed for him and blessed him. There were ups and downs with his health condition. The family was very worried. The doctor said patients like him usually have no more than six months left to live. There were many suggestions. Some said to take indegenous herbal medicine, others advised to have a heart transplant, and then there are those who said to just have faith and pray. All of these suggestions are confusing. But, one morning, he talked to the family and said, “I hear and understand God’s purpose for me and His plan for my life.” Since then, he had no fear. The only important thing for him is to live out God’s purpose for him and depend on God’s truth.
Reflection
Have you ever prayed like David prayed in the scripture we read today? Read the word of God, have fellowship with Him, worship Him, take time to be with Him, and firmly trust in Him.

Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
