GOD DELIVERED US

Bible In A Year: 1 King 3:16-28, 1 King 4, 1 King 5; Acts 12:19-25, Acts 13:1-12; Psalm 74:18-23

“ …let the poor and needy praise your name.”
Psalm 74:21 b WEB

In 1981, I went back to stay with my sibling in the Brigade (3) area, Pleh Tah Key village.  At that time, no one was left in the village due to intense battles. People had to flee and stay in the deep forest. We had to build a tent and use the banana leaf for roof covering when it rained. Mosquitos and insects were biting us so much. There was a shortage of food; some days we got to eat and some days we didn’t.  We were in tremendous hardship, lacking clothing to wear and food to eat. We suffered a great deal.

One day in the morning, I thought I would cook but there was no rice left in the rice bag. I took the paddy stalks and pound them to dehusk the chaff to get rice. My husband, on the other hand, went to help people harvest paddy. Myanmar soldiers heard noises and they came and fired shots at us. My mother and I ran to one place and my husband to another direction. We ran and hid in a cave around 2 PM.  We were not able to sleep the entire night. We prayed unceasingly until dawn. It was 8 AM in the morning when people searching for us found us and accompanied us home.  When I united with all of my family members, I knelt down under a big tree and whispered my heartfelt gratitude to God all by myself.

Reflection

How do our troubles and trials pass? Who delivered us?
Get down on your knees and thank God.

Prayer

Dear God, help me to understand more of Your word. I need You every moment. May Your word always remind me to praise Your name continuously. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
