LET US EVALUATE OUR FAITH

To receive salvation, we need to combine our faith, a channel to salvation, with God’s grace, the source of salvation.
1. Why do we need to be saved? (Romans 3:12)
We are born with the natural proclivity to sin. This nature of the original sin gives rise to sinful thoughts, sinful words, and sinful deeds. The result is that we become the enemy of God. We are under condemnation, and therefore we need to be saved.
2. What do we do to be saved? (Ephesians 2:8)
Living a good life cannot save us. Salvation is a gift from God. But we need faith. There are many religions in this world. In reality, those religions can only give hope and blessings temporarily as their teachings can be helpful. But they cannot give us salvation. If you have a brain disease, you need to go to the neurologist you can trust. Likewise, to receive life, you have to go to the One Who gives life in Whom you can trust (John 14:6). Dear brothers and sisters, we are like lepers. For example, if a leper cooks the best dish for you, you would not want to eat it even if you are hungry. Even if the leper cleans himself, you might see his disfigured features and ulcers between his fingers and you most likely cannot eat the food he prepared. Our sins are like leprosy. But, God cleanses and accepts us. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to hold our hands and grant us salvation. Everyday live out your faith to receive salvation through the grace of Jesus Christ. May the Name of the Lord be praised!

Dear Holy Father God, Life on earth is filled with the influence of evil and temptations. Help us and open our hearts to receive Your Holy Spirit in steadfastness until eternity. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
