THE STEPS DELIGHTFUL TO GOD
Bible In A Year: 2 Samuel 22; 2 Samuel 23:1-7; Acts 9:1-31; Psalm 73:15-28

One of my neighbors is an elderly Caucasian lady who loves animals but does not have any of her own. What she does regularly is that she buys apples and other food that animals eat, and puts them out in her backyard every evening. Soon, the animals come and eat the food. I see deer hopping, foxes fighting for food, birds with yellow, red, green, and grey colors flying up and down, and a variety of animals that I cannot name all of them. It is a delight to watch. I can clearly see she finds joy in seeing the animals approaching and eating the food. The animals also get to eat the food and enjoy their meals. After eating, they return to their respective resting places.
Just as the animals find blessings in drawing near to the one who feeds them, we who are sustained by God, find blessings in drawing near to the Lord. Just as the lady enjoys the animals coming to close to her, God delights in us taking steps closer to Him. Psalm 37:23 says, “A man’s steps are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way.” The steps of the righteous are established by the Lord. They follow the path that pleases God, who delights in their ways. Let us, sons and daughters of the Most High, allow God to be in charge of our steps.
