BRING WHAT YOU HAVE TO JESUS

There was a young man, whose name was Saw Leh Leh. When he was asked to sing among the youth, he answered, “I am afraid. I can’t carry a tune. I can’t sing. I don’t have a talent.” He was then asked to read a Bible verse, he quickly said, “I am afraid.” Another thing was requested of him, his answer sounded the same, “I don’t have any talent like others.” Again, an alternative invitation of action was presented to Saw Leh Leh, to which he hastily replied, “Not this time. Go ahead. I will do it next time.” Everytime an opportunity was offered to Saw Leh Leh, he did not fail to use the same language to turn down. Others learned, grew and became blessings in one way or another. However, Saw Leh Leh’s life became darker as time passed. He was unhappy. He had low self-esteem, feeling constantly inadequate and unworthy. In the end, he became mentally deranged. A life that was full of potential unfortunately ended up wasted. Although he had much to offer, he did not want to use what he had and allow Jesus to sanctify his gift; his life became fruitless and unfulfilling. On the contrary, a boy who had five barley loaves and two fish was willing to give what he had. Jesus Christ blessed his gift and multiplied it to bless thousands of people.
For some of us, especially Karen people, the devil may whisper in our ears, “You have no education. You don’t speak English. You are not good enough.” If we are not careful, we may echo what the devil said to us and turn down God-given opportunities. God created no one without talent. We have many talents we can offer in the kingdom work. All that is needed of us is to bring what we have to Jesus. He will then sanctify and generate blessings through us.

Prayer
God, You gave me many talents. But, the devil is interfering in my way so I will not use my talents. Please help me to use what I have, plenty or few, for your glory. I pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
