စီၤဒၤဝံးဒီးစီၤယိၤနၤသၣ်န့ၣ် မ့ၢ်တံၤသကိးလၢအဂ့ၤဝဲလီၤ. ဖဲစီၤဒၤဝံးဘၣ်ကွၢ်ဆၢၣ်မဲာ်ဒီးတၢ်ကီတၢ်ခဲ ခီဖျိလၢစီၤပၤ စီၤစီလူး ဃုမၤသံအီၤအဆၢကတီၢ်န့ၣ် စီၤယိၤနၤသၣ်မ့ၢ်ပှၤတဂၤလၢ အဂုာ်ကျဲးစၢး မၤပူၤဖျဲးအတံၤသကိးစီၤဒၤဝံး လီၤ. အဝဲသ့ၣ်ခံဂၤ မၤတၢ်အၢၣ်လီၤလၢ ကစၢ်ယွၤအမဲာ်ညါ လၢကတီလိာ်သး, ကမၤစၢၤလိာ်သးလီၤ. ဒ်အဝဲသ့ၣ် အတၢ်အၢၣ်လီၤအသိးန့ၣ်, အဝဲသ့ၣ်တီဝဲဒၣ်လီၤ. ဖဲစီၤဒၤဝံးလဲၤအိၣ်ဝဲလၢပှၢ်မုၢ်ကနၢ, ပှဲၤဒီး တၢ်သူၣ်အုးသးအုး, တၢ်ကိၢ်တၢ်ဂီၤ, တၢ်ကီတၢ်ခဲ အဆၢကတီၢ်န့ၣ် အသကိးစီၤယိၤနၤသၣ်လဲၤဆူအအိၣ်ဒီးဟ့ၣ်ဂံၢ်ဟ့ၣ်ဘါအီၤလီၤ. ပဖးဘၣ်ဖဲ (၁ၡမူၤအ့လး ၂၃:၁၆), ‘‘ဒီးစီၤစီလူးအဖိခွါ စီၤယိၤနၤသၣ်ဂဲၤဆၢထၢၣ်, ဒီးလဲၤဝဲဆူစီၤဒၤဝံးအအိၣ်လၢ ပှၤလၢ်ကျါ, ဒီးဒုးဆူၣ်ထီၣ်အစုလၢယွၤအပူၤလီၤ.”

BE TRUE TO YOUR PROMISE

“They both made a covenant before Yahweh. Then David stayed in the woods and Jonathan went to his house.”

David and Jonathan were good friends. When Saul tried to kill David, Jonathan was there helping and protecting his friend. The two friends made a promise before God to be true friends who would be there for each other in good and bad times. Indeed, they were true to their promises. When David was in the woods, filled with sorrow, worries, and difficulties, his friend Jonathan went to encourage him. We read in 1 Samuel 23:16, “ Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose and went to David into the woods, and strengthened his hand in God.”
In the same way we, who are followers of Christ and believers, need to be true to God in our daily walk. When we were baptized, the pastor who baptized us asked whether we would be true to God and we promised we would. Following God does not exempt us from troubles. Just like David, we too will inevitably face difficult and worrisome situations. But, if we call upon God in faith, He is the God true to His promises and will give us the strength we need.
We live in a modern time with unprecedented advancement. The downside is we also live with sophisticated things trying to separate us from God, shake our faith, and destroy our promises in many ways. As Jonathan and David were true to their promises, let us be true to our promise to God and hold tightly to our faith.
Reflection
Are we true to the promises we have made? Are we true to our God whom we worship? Faith is a precious thing we must hold on tightly.
Prayer
Dear God, help us to be true to you and our faith in You. We trust that you will be with us when we face problems. Please give us the heart to be true to you. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
