‘‘ထဲပျံၤယွၤဒီးမၤအတၢ်လၢ တၢ်မ့ၢ်တၢ်တီလၢသုသးဒီးဖျၢၣ်ညါတက့ၢ်. အဂ့ၢ်ဒ်အံၤ, ကွၢ်ဆိကမိၣ်တၢ်အဒိၣ်တဖၣ် လၢအမၤန့ၢ်သုဂီၢ်တက့ၢ်. မ့မ့ၢ်သုမ့ၢ်မၤဒံးတၢ်အၢဒီး, သုမ့ၢ်ဂ့ၤ, သုစီၤပၤမ့ၢ်ဂ့ၤ ကတုၤလၢတၢ်ဟးဂူာ်ဟးဂီၤလီၤ.’’

ပမ့ၢ်ကွၢ်ဆိကမိၣ်က့ၤန့ဆၢၣ်ခိၣ်ဃၢၤအဒိအတဲာ်လၢမိၢ်ပၢ်တဲယုၤပှၤတဖၣ်, လၢအလီၤပလိာ်အသးဒီး လံာ်စီဆှံအဆၢ တဖၣ် အိၣ်စ့ၢ်ကီးဝဲလီၤ. တဘျီန့ၣ် ထိၣ်ဒီၣ်ဒီဖိမုၣ်အိၣ်ခံဘ့ၣ်လီၤ. တနံၤန့ၣ် ထိၣ်ဒီၣ်ဖိတဘ့ၣ်အံၤ ဃ့အခွဲးလၢအမိၢ် ဒ်သိး အကလဲၤယူၤလိာ်ကွဲဆူပီၣ်လဲၣ်ဝၢ်ဘးခီလီၤ. ဘၣ်ဆၣ်အမိၢ်တဲအီၤ “ဖိခွါဧၢ, တၢ်လၢပီၣ်လဲၣ်န့ၣ် နယူၤခီအီၤ တဂာ်ဘၣ်, နနီၢ်ဖိဆံးဒံး.” အဃိ ထိၣ်ဒီၣ်ဖိအိၣ်ကစုဒုခီဖျိလၢအမိၢ်တဲအီၤဒ်အံၤအဃိလီၤ. ထိၣ်ဖိအံၤဃ့အမိၢ်အခွဲး ခဲအံၤခဲအံၤဘၣ်ဆၣ် အမိၢ်တဲအီၤဒၣ်ထဲ အနီၢ်ဆံးဒံးလီၤ. ထိၣ်ဖိအံၤအိၣ်ကဒီးကစုဒုလီၤ. တဘျုးနံၤတဘျုးသီ လဲၤပူၤကွံာ်ဒီး ထိၣ်ဒီၣ်အံၤကွၢ်လီၤအသးဒီးစံးဝဲ “ယဒိၣ်တုာ်ခိၣ်ပှဲၤလံ. ယဂံၢ်ယဘါစ့ၢ်ကီးလၢပှဲၤလံ. တဘျီအံၤ ယကယူၤလၢပီၣ်လဲၣ်ဝၢ်ဘးခီလီၤ.” အဝဲက့ၤဃ့ကဒီးအခွဲးလၢအမိၢ်အိၣ်ဘၣ်ဆၣ်အမိၢ်တဟ့ၣ်အခွဲးဘၣ်. အမိၢ်တဲကဒီးဒ်သိးလၢညါလီၤ. အဝဲတတဲဆၢအမိၢ်လၢၤဘၣ်. အမိၢ်လဲၤဃုအီၣ်အဆၣ်အခါ အဝဲလၢတၢ်သးခု အပူၤယူၤထီၣ်ဝဲလီၤ. ယူၤဝဲတၢ်ဆၢကတီၢ်ဖးယံာ်ဒီး တၢ်ဘှံးထီၣ်အသးလီၤ. အကွၢ်လီၤဝဲဆူပီၣ်လဲၣ်အပူၤဒီး ထံၣ်ဝဲလၢလၢၢ်ဖျါထီၣ်ဒီးစီၢ်လီၤအိၣ်ဘှံးဝဲ လၢလၢၢ်အလိၤန့ၣ်လီၤ. တဲထီၣ်ဝဲ “ယမိၢ်လီယၤလီၤ. ပီၢ်လဲၣ်ပယူၤ တဂာ်ဘၣ်န့ၣ်တမ့ၢ်ဘၣ်.” ဖဲန့ၣ် ယူၤကဒီးဝဲဖးယံာ်ဝံၤ တၢ်ဘှံးထီၣ်အသးကဒီးလီၤ. ဘၣ်ဆၣ်ဃုကွၢ်တၢ်လီၢ်လၢ ကအိၣ်ဘှံးအဂီၢ် တထံၣ်တၢ်လီၢ်နီတတီၤဘၣ်. ဖဲန့ၣ်ထိၣ်ဒီၣ်ဖိ သ့ၣ်နီၣ်ထီၣ်က့ၤအမိၢ် အတၢ်ကတိၤ လၢပီၣ်လဲၣ် အံၤ ပှၤယူၤတဂာ်ဘၣ်န့ၣ်လီၤ. သနာ်က့မ့ၢ်တၢ်စဲၤခံ လၢထိၣ်ဒီၣ်အဂီၢ်လီၤ. လဲၤဆူမဲာ်ညါတတုၤ, က့ၤဆူလီၢ်ခံ တတုၤ အိၣ်ဒၣ်အတၢ်အိၣ်မူဘၣ်ၡူကွံာ် လၢတၢ်တဒိကနၣ်အမိၢ်အကလုၢ်အဃိလီၤ. ထိၣ်အံၤအဂီၢ် တၢ်တဒိကနၣ် အဘူးအလဲမ့ၢ်ဝဲတၢ်ဟးဂီၤန့ၣ်လီၤ. ဒ်မိၢ်ထိၣ်ဒီၣ်ဒီဟ့ၣ်ပလီၢ်အဖိအသိး, ဝံၡမူၤအ့လးဟ့ၣ်ပလီၤ ပှၤအံၣ်စရ့လးဖိ တဖၣ် ဒီး စီၤပၤစီၤစီလူး လၢကပျံၤယွၤဒီးတိၢ်န့ၢ်အတၢ်မၤလိာ်လီၤ. မ့ၢ်လၢစီၤစီလူးတဒိကနၣ်ယွၤအဃိ, တၢ်လၢအလူၤပိာ်ထွဲသးန့ၣ် ပဖးဘၣ်ဖဲ (၁ၡမူၤအ့လး ၁၃:၁၄) – “မ့မ့ၢ်ခဲကနံၣ်အံၤ နဘီနမုၢ်တအိၣ်ဂၢၢ်ဆိးကျၢၤ ဘၣ်ဘၣ်, ယွၤဃုထၢန့ၢ်လံပှၤဒ်အသးဒၣ်ဝဲအသိးတဂၤ, ဒီးယွၤမၤလိာ်လံ လၢအကကဲထီၣ်အပှၤဂီၢ်မုၢ်အခိၣ်လံ. အဂ့ၢ်ဒ်အံၤ, နတတိၢ်န့ၢ်ဘၣ်တၢ်လၢ ယွၤမၤလိာ်နၤဘၣ်.” တၢ်ဒိကနၣ်မ့ၢ်တအိၣ်ဘၣ် ဒီးပတၢ်အိၣ်မူအံၤလီၤမၢ်သ့ အဃိ မ်ပကတိၢ်န့ၢ်ပာ်ဒိၣ် ယွၤဒီးမိၢ်ပၢ်သရၣ်သမါသ့ၣ်တဖၣ်အတၢ်ကတိၤဒီး အိၣ်မူမၤထွဲအီၤန့ၣ်တက့ၢ်.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF DISOBEDIENCE

“Only fear Yahweh, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you. But if you keep doing evil, you will be consumed, both you and your king.”

When we think about fables our parents tell us, we find they also fall in line with the teaching of the scriptures. Once, there were two Kingfisher birds, the mother bird and the son. One day the young son asked permission from his mother to fly across the ocean to the other side. But the mother told him, “You cannot fly across the ocean. You are small.” The young bird took his mother’s advice and did not attempt to do any adventure. But he kept asking for permission from his mother only to get the same answer, “You are still young.” Some years later, the Kingfisher looked at himself and said, “I am fully grown now with enough strength to fly across the ocean.” He once again asked his mother for permission but she did not approve of it. She gave the same answer as before and he did not say anything back to his mother. One day while his mother was away looking for food, he happily flew out for a long distance and became tired. Looking around, he saw a rock in the sea and rested on it for awhile. He said to himself, “ My mother lied to me. She said we could not fly across the sea and that is not true.” He once again flew for a long time and started to feel tired. He looked around, but could not find any place to rest this time. He remembered what his mother told him, “We cannot fly across the sea,” but it was too late for him. He was not able to fly forward or turn around. Consequently, he lost his life in the sea due to his disobedience to his mother. Just as the mother bird warned her son, prophet Samuel warned the Israelites and King Saul to fear and obey God. We read about the consequence of Saul’s disobedience in 1 Samuel 13:14 – “But now your kingdom will not continue. Yahweh has sought for himself a man after his own heart, and Yahweh has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept that which Yahweh commanded you.” Not obeying God, our parents or teachers can lead us to death and destruction. Let us live out an obedient life!

Dear God, please increase my love and obedience. Teach me to take your commandments to heart and live according to your will. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
