PONDER ON GOD’S GRACE

Bible in a Year: Daniel 7, Daniel 8:1-14; 1 John 2:12-27; Psalm 136:13-26

“He remembered us in our weakness. His faithful love endures forever. He saved us from our enemies. His faithful love endures forever. He gives food to every living thing. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever.”
Psalm 136:23-26 NLT

We must praise God in every circumstance and should never forget His grace and mercy on us. The wonderful works of God are immeasurable. When I look back at my past, I see the work of God in every step along the way. Because of His grace, I am not brought to shame. I am thriving and able to work until today through God’s grace alone.

Thirty years ago, there was a person who was raised in a war-torn area. He had to flee into the jungles constantly. He lived with perpetual fear because there was no peace in the country. Freedom and opportunity were a lost cause. He was impoverished and had a difficult life. Where is victory for a person like this? But with God’s grace, he was able to overcome the difficult days and his hope was sustained. God watched over him and embraced him. God prepared the best for this person, turned the bitter days into sweet days, offered hope through difficulties and poverty, and gave a victorious life. Now, this person glorifies the LORD in a manner that he is able to do so. Because God’s grace endures forever, we are not brought to ruins. Because of His faithful love, we must always praise God.

Reflection

Through facing trials and difficulties in our lives, we become tired and overwhelmed and lose all hope. But always remember that God is on our side. He never gives up on us and He overcomes everything. He helps and restores us. His grace reigns forevermore.  

Prayer

Dear Father, this world is filled with difficulties and sufferings. Many of our Karen people are oppressed and living in fear in the country as well as outside of the country. May You watch over them, guide them, and embrace every one of them. In Christ’s Name we pray. Amen.
