WALK AND TALK WITH THE MERCIFUL GOD
Bible in a year – Malachi 2:17, Malachi 3, Malachi 4; Revelation 7; Psalm 144:1-8
“Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?”
Psalm 144:3 NKJV
Man was created in God’s own image so that we could have fellowship with Him. God even walked and talked with Adam and Eve. When I was only 3 months old, my mother asked the Lord Jesus into her heart. Momma took my brother and me to church and taught us about God. My Daddy was a good man but he didn’t think he needed God. He thought he treated his family better than Christian men did theirs. Everyday my mom knelt by her bed and prayed out loud for my dad and her children. In rebellion, my brother ran away from home. He was gone for 2 days. When he called, he told Momma he could hear her praying for him and he needed to come home.
In my teens, I also fell into sin and ended up eloping with my boyfriend. I knew before I got back that I had made the worst mistake of my life. He promised he would go to church with me, then afterward he refused to even let me go. We divorced after 3 ½ years of turmoil!
Through it all God had his hand on my life! He brought my husband Jack into my life. We both had praying parents who loved us. After Jack and I married we realized we needed more than each other to make our marriage work. Since we were raised in church, we started there. We ended up finding West Dunlap Baptist Church (now Arizona Karen Baptist Church), a good Bible preaching church, nearly 50 years ago. God with His mercy and grace revealed Himself to both of us. We have been married for 51 years! My dad came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1993, just eight years before he died. I am so thankful for praying parents, a God who answers prayers, and who created us to walk and talk with Him.
