GOD WANTS US TO OBEY HIM

Bible in a Year: Ezekiel 26, Ezekiel 27; Hebrews 12:1-13; Psalm 125:1-4

“The wicked will not rule the land of the godly, for then the godly might be tempted to do wrong.”  
Psalm 125:3 NLT

We often hear the word, “obedience,” but we do not intentionally think about it. We have to admit that it is true that we sometimes face hardship because of our disobedience. Our forefathers in the Bible loved and obeyed God, and as a result, were blessed with status, wealth, money, good life, and power to rule. However, when they forgot to obey God’s commandment and put God last, their lives stumbled and their nations fell under the enemies.

I feel that God loves me too much; I am not necessarily an obedient child. Because of my disobedience, I faced the worst hardship in life in 2017. On January 3, I was laid off from work because there were too many employees and very little work. In the same month, a car hit my car and the driver ran away. Again on July 7, I was in a car accident that involved five cars. The driver of the car that stopped suddenly in front of me ran away, so the police found me to be at fault. My car was totaled. I made up my mind that I was going to visit my parents in Thailand and submitted travel paperwork. Because I was not a US citizen, I knew I had to wait for a while, but nothing came. I submitted the paperwork again and still I heard nothing back. Within a year, I went through a lot. It made me think of the people of Tyre who were judged because of their disobedience. God wants us to obey Him, trust in Him, fear Him, and bring glory to Him. May God bless your life with great obedience!
