THE ANSWER COMES FROM GOD ONLY

God wants us to trust in Him. With a prayer of faith, we ask God to heal us from our illnesses and He will heal us. I would like to share with you about my father’s faith journey. My father became a Christian and loved God. When he was single, he attended church and participated in church activities by singing and playing guitar and the church leaders adored him. But, after getting married, he stopped going to church until the day he died. He started drinking, gambling, and getting into sexual sins. He drifted away from God. I prayed to God to discipline my father and God answered my prayer. Three days after I prayed, my father got seriously sick and had a fifty-fifty chance of being alive or dead. He had stomach pain, which was a result of a spell cast by the work of the devil. My father knew he was not right with God so he withdrew his name from the church. He sought a monk for magic healing and felt a little better for a while. We told him to repent and reconnect with the church, but he said the monk told him the illness would come back and he would need to go back to the monk for healing so he could not come back to the church yet. Later, the illness came back as he went back to drinking. When he was unconscious, my mother prayed for him to regain consciousness. God gave my father time to repent and come back to him, but he did not. He went to the monk for healing, but he was not necessarily committed to the monk’s religion. He was also not committed to the Christian faith. In the end, my father got lost in the in-between. No one can serve two masters. In life, faith is most important. Faith and prayer must go hand in hand. If we have no faith, we cannot overcome difficult life experiences. It is most important to rely on God who can heal our physical and spiritual illnesses. The ultimate answer we are looking for will only come from God alone.
