TEMPORARY LIFE ON EARTH

“Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.”

We do not rule our lives, God does. Life on earth is temporary. We are only guests on earth, like “a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” We don’t know what tomorrow holds. I would like to share my experience with my father. My father loved God, loved his family, and fulfilled his responsibility. However, the one thing he did that really hurt me was abusing alcohol, and that was a stumbling block for the family. Alcoholism affected his mental health and his mind was filled with fear, anxiety, and agitations. He had a hard time sleeping at night. But, my father repented and said he was going to go into the ministry. We were delighted to hear him say that. He then enrolled himself in an evangelism school. He was relieved from having fear and anxiety. The family was also very pleased. He worked hard and successfully graduated. However, after a year or two, he returned to his old life. He strayed farther from God and lived to please only himself. There was no longer peace at home. He still has not changed today. There are times when he strays so far away from God that he values only his earthly decisions. His life is like a water drop on the lotus leaf ready to fall off. My family and I hope that he will again become a light for us and for God. Life on earth is temporary and there is not much time.

Do you need to return to God? Because life goes by fast, please hurry up.

Dear God, please fulfill my needs in Your Holy Name. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
