BE RECONCILED TO GOD

Bible in a Year: Isaiah 1, Isaiah 2; 2 Corinthians 5:11-21, 2 Corinthians 6:1-2; Psalm 105:1-11

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:20 NIV

Today, we are facing a pandemic, war, displacement, troubles, and devastating disruptions. There is no peace in our country. We hear the sounds of firing guns; fear and anxiety overwhelm us day and night. The losses we experience compound to the magnitude of a mountain, the darkness surrounds us, and justice is nowhere to be found. The chasm between men and God appeared to span farther, sink deeper, and spread wider. The devil uses all his might to raze the bridge of the reconciliation Jesus built with the cross. He makes it almost convincing that God does not see, hear, or care about our suffering. This is the time to remind ourselves that the work of reconciliation between men and God was accomplished by Jesus Christ. He died so we would be reconciled with God. We must keep the faith and submit our lives in the grasp of those hands which were nailed on the cross for us. Just as Paul appealed to the Corinthians, I beg you to be reconciled to God by becoming a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) and totally submitting to God (Habakkuk 3:17-19). After Jesus conquered death, He appeared among the disciples and said, “Peace be with you!” When we are reconciled to God, Jesus is enough for us in the pitch-dark circumstances we find ourselves today.

Reflection

Where is your hope rooted? Where do you find peace? Dear brothers and sisters, peace is Jesus Christ Himself, and therefore let us be reconciled to our Lord and Savior.

Prayer

Dear Father God, please bless us so we seek to be right and reconciled with You at all times. In Jesus’s name we praise You and seek You. Amen.
