လံာ်စီဆှံဝဲအံၤပမၤလိန့ၢ်အခီပညီသ့လၢကျဲအါဘိန့ၣ်လီၤ. ဘၣ်ဆၣ်ယအဲၣ်ဒိးမၤလိသကိးထဲကျဲတဘိဧိၤန့ၣ်လီၤ. အဝဲန့ၣ်မ့ၢ်ဝဲတၢ်နာ်ဒီးတၢ်မၤထဲကစၢ်တဂၤအတၢ်န့ၣ်လီၤ. အခီပညီမ့ၢ်ဝဲ ပတဘၣ်နာ်ဒီးမၤတၢ်ဝံတၢ်နါအတၢ်မၤ ဘၣ်. ယအဲၣ်ဒိးတဲဖျါယတၢ်လဲၤခီဖျိတဆံးတက့ၢ်လၢအဘၣ်ထွဲဒီးလံာ်စီဆှံတဆၢအံၤန့ၣ်လီၤ. ယမ့ၢ်ပှၤတဂၤလၢ အဒိၣ်ထီၣ်ဘၣ်လၢပှၤတစူၢ်က့ၤနာ်က့ၤယွၤအဟံၣ်ဖိဃီဖိန့ၣ်လီၤ. ယမိယပါမ့ၢ်ပှၤမိၢ်လုပၢ်လၢ်ဒီးမ့ၢ်ပှၤဘါတၢ် ဂီၤတၢ်ဖီၣ်ဒီးနာ်ဝဲတၢ်ဝံတၢ်နါအစိကမီၤန့ၣ်လီၤ. ဒီးယဲစ့ၢ်ကီးယနာ်ပိာ်ထွဲဝဲယမိယပါအတၢ်ဘူၣ်တၢ်ဘါအတၢ်စူၢ်တၢ် နာ်လၢယနီၢ်ဆံးလံၤလံၤအခါလံန့ၣ်လီၤ. ယမိၢ်ယပၢ်စ့ၢ်ကီးသိၣ်လိယၤလၢအတၢ်ဘူၣ်တၢ်ဘါအဂ့ၢ်ဒီး ဒုးနာ်ယၤလၢ တၢ်ဝံတၢ်နါအစိကမီၤလၢအဝဲသ့ၣ်နာ်ဝဲန့ၣ်မ့ၢ်တၢ်လၢအဂ့ၤကတၢၢ်ဒီးအဘၣ်ကတၢၢ်လၢအဝဲသ့ၣ်အဂီၢ်န့ၣ်လီၤ. ထီ ဘိယလဲၤလၢပှၢ်လၢ်ကျါဒီးလဲၤလုၢ်တၢ်ပာ်တၢ်လၢသ့ၣ်ကစၢ်, ဝၣ်ကစၢ်, လၢၢ်ကစၢ်ဒီးထံကျိကစၢ် န့ၣ်လီၤ. ယမ့ၢ် ဆူးက့ဆါဘီတဘျီလၢ်လၢ်ယမိၢ်ယပၢ်လဲၤကွဲန့ၢ်ယကလၤဆူသ့ၣ်ကစၢ်, ဝၣ်ကစၢ်, လၢၢ်ကစၢ်ဒီးထံကျိကစၢ်အ

DRINK ONLY THE CUP OF THE LORD

“You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.”

We can learn so many things from this Bible verse, but there is one way I want us to learn together: believe in and serve only God. This means we are not to believe in and serve the demons. I would like to share with you my experience related to this Bible verse. I grew up in a family that did not know the true God. My parents practiced animism and worshipped idols. They also believed in the power of demons. I had to follow their faith practices since I was a little child. My parents taught us about their religious beliefs and practices. They made us believe in the power of demons, which they said was the best and right thing for us. Frequently, I had to go into the jungle and make sacrifices to the gods of trees, bamboo, rocks, and rivers. Every time I was sick, my parents would invite gods of trees, bamboo, rocks and rivers to tend to my spirit. When I turned 15, I encountered Jesus and began to accept Him in my life. After receiving Jesus as my Savior I forsook all beliefs and practices related to animism and the power of demons, because 1 Corinthians 10:21 says we cannot drink the cup of demons.  In the past I drank the cup of demons, but after receiving Jesus in my heart I drink the cup of the Lord. I believe that idolatry and the power of demons will finally lead us to destruction. But, faith in Jesus Christ will lead us to eternal life.

Reflection

What are the cups of the demons that entice us to partake in their table?

Prayer

Father God, Who created heaven and earth, You are the King of kings and no other gods can be compared to You. Help us to always draw near You and trust in You alone. No matter what temptations we face, may we only drink Your cup.  In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
