LET US LOVE CHRIST’S CHURCH

The church is the body of believers coming together to worship, love and honor God and to love and help one another. The church must proclaim the Good News and represent Jesus Christ on earth. The church must shine the light of Christ in His grace. The church is the body of Christ that Christ redeemed with His blood. Therefore, it is imperative we become a part of a local church wherever we are and participate in the kingdom work. We need fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ in the church and they need fellowship with us. A Christian without a church is like an orphan. Today, there is misunderstanding about being a church member. Some Christians do not belong to any church. Some do not go to any church, saying, “I live in America. My church is in Burma. My pastor is in Burma. I open my phone and worship with them.” Some reason, “Having my name registered with a church in Burma is enough. Otherwise, I have to give a lot of offerings to Burma and also in America. Having too many pastors is not good.” Yet, others admit, I don’t like going to church. I worship at home. I watch sermons online.” Some do not commit to any church and they hop from one church to another. The church is made up of very imperfect you and me, who are full of weaknesses. However, by coming together as a church, we grow spiritually in loving God and loving our neighbors, which our Lord Jesus Christ commanded. Romans 10:4 says, “For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” As such, coming together in Christ is compulsory. We read in Hebrews 10:24-25, “Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” God presides in the assembly. Let us belong and commit to the assembly of a local church wherever we are and serve Christ’s church which He paid with His blood. In response to Christ’s love, let us, body parts of Christ, take responsibility and serve the Church of Christ.
