WE ARE GOD’S CHILDREN

A child’s identity and parents are known by his or her birth registered by a physician or a healthcare administrator. For believers, we must be born again as Jesus said to become God’s children and see the kingdom of God. Jesus also went through baptism and showed us a good example. We become God’s children by being born again and led by the Spirit of God. We get baptized in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to manifest the evidence of our faith and participate in the ordinance of communion to commemorate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. There was a saying by our forefathers: God takes care of God’s children.
In 2008, the Burmese military drew a constitution and announced an election. Everyone knew the military’s corrupted schemes and was determined to vote against the ruthless dictator. However, once they got to the polling place to cast their ballots, they saw military spies and police and got scared. When I got there, I took a pen, quickly marked “X,” and voted against the military. Next day, people asked me about my ballot and I replied, “God answered it for me.” The following day, a leader asked me to see him in Loikaw. He wanted me to go to Yangon and get a passport. There was a bomb explosion the night we arrived in Yangon. The next day was Sunday. I woke up and prayed to God to help me get a passport and to watch over me for the day ahead. After that, my friend asked me to go with him and check out the explosion site. He was afraid to go alone. After we passed the explosion site, we noticed the spies following us. I prayed hard silently in my heart. I knew we could not escape. We kept walking fast and saw a church in front of us and so we entered there and prayed. We calmed down and thanked God wholeheartedly. I finally noticed the name of the church, which was Immanuel Karen Baptist Church. Right away, I remembered Immanuel means “God with us.” Indeed, God takes care of God’s children.
