DO AS YOU ARE TOLD

Our Karen people are truly blessed to get the opportunity to live in an advanced country. We are free. We can work. We get to pursue education and other interests. I was very happy I got the opportunity to go to high school and graduate. It was not easy by no means. I have family and children to take care of. In studying for three years, I had to manage my time efficiently to ensure I fulfilled my responsibilities at home and at the same time studied sufficiently. There were difficulties but I passed most classes and towards the end there were two classes left. If I did not pass these two classes, I would not graduate to get my high school certificate. The subjects were really hard for me. When I took the practice tests, I scored only 50%. That was not a passing grade. I knew I would not pass the actual tests. I sort of gave up. I did not concern myself with it anymore. I no longer studied hard. No more worries for tomorrow! I put everything in God’s hand. In the morning, I went to school and told the teacher I would not take the tests and that I would come back to take the test after studying for three more months. But, my teacher trusted in me and told me to take the test. She said she was confident I would pass. I just went with the flow and did what the teacher asked me to do. I prayed to God and told Him, “Lord, if I pass this test, it is not me at all.” I started answering the questions. It was absolutely unbelievable! When the result came out, I passed with marks exceeding the requirement. I knew right then it was the miraculous work of God done for me in the land of the United States, just as He did in the land of Egypt and in the field of Zoan. Sometimes, it is good to do what you are told.
Reflection
Do you feel like stepping back? Go forward! Be aware! Sometimes in the midst of challenges that make you feel like quitting, God can work through someone to grant you success.
Prayer
Father in heaven, teach me to trust you and see your miraculous work in my daily activities.. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
