A GOOD SHEPHERD

When God chooses us to do one thing or another in His service, we ought to be happy because of His love and His desire to use us. We are to serve Him with faithfulness according to His word. It is imperative we live out God’s will and submit to Him with all our heart, all our soul, and all our mind. Sometimes, we or others promised God we would serve Him and then even went to the Bible school; however, we ended up doing nothing for God. Jesus said He is a good shepherd. He gave His life for us and there is no denying of His love. If we do not give up in serving God, He will reward us according to our work.
From childhood to adulthood, I knew a man, who went to the Bible school, came to work in the remote mountainous areas, and faced many ordeals. His name was Rev. Moses. He did not let discouragement win over in his service to the Lord. When villagers had problems and needed help, he did whatever he could to be helpful. He taught and ministered year after year and he was not paid any wages. He served lovingly, willingly and sacrificially. Rev. Moses served God this way until he died.
Reflection
What lessons do you learn from Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, and how have you applied these lessons in your life? Regardless of the role in which we serve, be it a pastor or a worker, it is important to be good servants of Christ.
Prayer
Dear God, thank you for leaving your word for us to learn from and apply in our lives so we become good shepherds to do Your will. We ask in Jesus’ Name to rule our lives. Amen.
