တၢ်ဖးဖျိလံာ်စီဆှံလၢတနံၣ်အတီၢ်ပူၤအဂီၢ် – ဒၤနယ့လး ၃:၁၃-၃၀, ဒၤနယ့လး ၄:၁-၁၈, ၂ပ့းတရူး ၂, ကတိၤဒိ ၂၉:၁-၉

ပမံပပၢၢ်ထီၣ်တဘျီဃီ, ပဘၣ်သဂၢၢ်ဒီးတၢ်ဃုထၢတဖၣ်န့ၣ်လီၤ. ယကဘၣ်ဆဲးမံဒံးဧါ. ပကဘၣ်အီၣ်မနုၤလဲၣ်. မ့ၢ်ယကခူၣ်လီၤကွံာ်ယတၤလၣ်ဧါ မ့တမ့ၢ် ယကပျဲပှၤဂၤဘၣ်ဆိၣ်ဂ့ၤခီဖျိတၢ်လၢယမၤစၢၤသ့ တသ့ဖဲအသ့န့ၣ်ဧါ. မ့ၢ်ယကဂုာ်ကျဲးစၢးမၤဟါမၢ်ကွံာ်ယတၢ်သးအုး မ့တမ့ၢ် မၤအါထီၣ်ယတၢ်သးဟ့သးကါဧါ. မ့ၢ်ယကပျဲတၢ်လၢ ယအဲၣ်ဒိး ဒုးကဲထီၣ်အီၤလၢ ယလုၢ်ယလၢ်လၢအတဂ့ၤတခါပၢယတၢ်အိၣ်မူ မ့တမ့ၢ် ဃုထံၣ်န့ၢ်တၢ်မၤဘျါဧါ. ယကစံၣ်ညီၣ်ပှၤဂၤ မ့တမ့ၢ် ယကဃုထံၣ်န့ၢ်ကျဲလၢယကနၢ်ပၢၢ်ပှၤတဂၤန့ၣ်ဧါ. မ့ၢ်ယကအးလီၤယတၢ်ဘၣ်သးဆူ ယွၤ မ့တမ့ၢ် လဲၤတခီတၢၤလၢယကျဲဒၣ်၀ဲန့ၣ်ဧါ. တၢ်ဃုထၢမ့ၢ်တၢ်လၢပလဲၤကပာ်ကွံာ်အီၤတသ့ခီဖျိအမ့ၢ်တၢ်လၢ အဘၣ်ထွဲဒီးပတၢ်အိၣ်မူအဃိန့ၣ်လီၤ. တၢ်ဃုထၢတနီၤညီ၀ဲလၢပကမၤအီၤဖဲတၢ်ဃုထၢတနီၤမၤဘၣ်ဒိပသးန့ၣ်လီၤ.

EVEN IF

“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up. “
Daniel 3:17-18 NLT

The moment we wake up, we are faced with choices. Do I continue sleeping? What should I eat? Will I keep my talents buried or will I allow others to be blessed by what I can contribute, no matter how small? Will I work through my grief or grow embittered? Will I allow this addiction to rule over me or will I seek treatment? Will I judge or will I seek to understand the person? Will I surrender my will to God or insist on my way? Making decisions is an inescapable part of life. Some decisions are easy to make while other decisions wrench our hearts. 

Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah had to choose whether to worship the gold statue to save themselves or to remain true to God and die a grisly death. Despite their fears, their choice was very clear; they chose God over other gods, over human approval and over safety. 

As a pastor, there have been times when I have had to ask myself — will I love even if I am unappreciated, will I serve even if I am not acknowledged, will I go even if it inconveniences me, will I give even if it deprives me, will I preach even if I feel so lacking and broken inside? When I am often tempted to choose the easier option, the Scripture for today reminds me that my choices have repercussions that echo into eternity.

Reflection

Will I choose God even if it hurts? Will I choose God even if the world turns against me?

Prayer

Lord, in moments when we have to choose, give us the courage, obedience and faith to choose You even if the world mocks us and even if we lose the things of earth that we treasure the most. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen
