ATTENDING CHURCH BRINGS HAPPINESS

When I was a kid, Sundays were always fun and exciting because on Sunday, I could go to church (God’s temple) to meet my friends and play with them. As kids, we always made noises and ran around during the service. Thus, I was always punished after church. As a result, gradually I didn’t want to go to church anymore.
When I grew up I wondered what would be the reasons to be excited about and happy to go to church. This psalm tells us that the Isrealites entered Jerusalem with songs of praise for God. It also tells us the reason for worshipping in Jerusalem and that the worship brings joy to the hearts. As believers, we are happy to go to church because we hear the word of wisdom that strengthens our souls. Moreover, we are happy for the fellowship with God and other believers, for the opportunities to share our stories, and for the privilege of praying in one heart for one another. Above all, we are thankful for the bountiful blessings from God. May we always be happy and excited to go into God’s temple.

Dear Father, thank you for giving us the opportunity to hear Your Word and worship you in freedom. May we live a life that pleases you. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
