ALL OF ME BELONGS TO GOD

I was born into a Christian family. I attended Sunday School from a very young age. But, I was not a Christian at heart. If I did not go to church, my mother punished me so I went to church. After completing elementary school, my parents could not afford to support me to continue my schooling. I was supposed to quit school and work on a farm with my father. But God opened a door of blessing and I was able to continue school in Yangon. I got to live with a family that loved God and treated me as their own. Moreover, I lived in a good neighborhood with good friends. These are all blessings from the Lord that He lavished on me. After graduating from college, I went overseas to work. One time I got so sick with a swollen liver that I almost died. Not having parents, relatives, and friends nearby, I felt very discouraged. At that moment, a Bible verse I learned from Sunday School entered my mind, “God is my strength.” I gained strength from that Bible verse and I prayed. God was merciful and he healed me. The doctor told me that I would have an infertility problem and most likely would not have a child. By God’s grace, I got married and had a very beautiful daughter. As a human being, I made mistakes. There were times when I was wrongly self-indulgent, but God never was short with His grace and mercy for me. In human’s eyes, I am just a villager of not much use. But due to God’s presence with me and blessings on me, I got to learn, get a college degree, and work to provide for my family. 

Reflection

In life, you will feel discouraged and depleted at times when adversity hits you hard. 
As every part of you and all of you belong to God, may He be your strength!

Prayer

Dear Father, please help us to be Your children who find strength in You and depend on You in both good and bad times. Let us be filled with praises for You and become good examples among those who do not know You. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
