IF YOU HAVE FAITH
Bible in A Year: Job 22, Job 23, Job 24; Matthew 21:18-32; Proverb 3:21-35
“Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done.”

When our Lord Jesus Christ went with his disciples and returned to the city, he was hungry. He saw a fig tree, but it had no fruit. He said to the fig tree, “May you never bear fruit again!” The tree immediately withered. The disciples marveled at what they saw asking, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but you can also say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.” Jesus Christ wants us to bear fruit for the advancement of the gospel to bless many, so they may put their faith in the one and only true God. Jesus also wants us to have faith that is endowed with God’s power during this time when we are facing challenges on earth.
Therefore, let us be the disciples of Christ—
- who keep our faith in the truth that blesses others,
- who keep our faith in the power that Christ bestows upon the faithful, and
- who keep our faith in the multiplication of God’s work channeled through us.
