DO NOT DECLARE ME GUILTY

Bible in A Year: Job 8, Job 9, Job 10, Matthew 19:16-30; Proverbs 3:11-20

“I will tell God, ‘Do not condemn me. Show me why you contend with me.”
Job 10:2 WEB

David said, “I am your servant, Lord. You created me.” Job also said the same thing. I learned from them. In the past, my family members were always fighting. There was no joy. I decided I would put this matter entirely in God’s hand. I no longer took life lightly. I fasted and prayed once a week. I did not tell any of my family members. I did it in secret.  I was waiting on the Lord to answer my prayers and I did not stop my fasting and prayer. Not even once. The longer it took, the stronger I prayed. After more than four years, God finally answered my prayer. In early June, my family members began to unite and understand one another.

When I fasted and prayed, I said, “God, you created me and love me so much that you gave me my family. I am thankful and I am glad. However, we do not love one another. If I contribute to this mess in any way, please forgive me. I desire to live according to your will. If my family members are at fault, help us to mend our ways.” Habakkuk 2:4 says, “…the righteous will live by his faith.” Psalm 116:9 says, “I will walk before Yahweh in the land of the living.”

Reflection

Chaos at home has to do with all family members. We need to help one another to live God’s will, so He will not declare us guilty.
What are the things you need to ask the Lord for your family members?

Prayer

God, I am Your child and you bless me. I will live openly before your eyes. Please do not declare me guilty. May I not be cursed. May I be blessed. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
