OUR SOULS CRAVE CONNECTION WITH OUR CREATOR

I was born in a Christian family. I was saved, but had no freedom. A wise king once said, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). There is really nothing new under the sun from the time of Adam until now. My heart is the same as the day after Adam disobeyed God. But, it was by God’s grace that I grew up in a Christian family and learned about the nature of our fickle hearts. Oh, how we need our Savior to heal and change our hearts! When I was 12, we moved to the United States through the UN Refugee program. As with most 12-years-olds, I did not really know or care about my spiritual well-being. I wish I did because the sooner we know God, the better our lives will be. Before I settled in Arizona, I grew up attending Thai Elementary School, where I learned the Buddhism ways of thinking and ways of life. Moreover, I took the world religion class in college and was intrigued.
Why do humans have an insatiable interest in after-life? Why? Because, deep down inside us, we know someone created us and there is a longing for a connection with the Creator. However, man-made religions cannot help us find the Creator. If we treat our faith as rituals, customs, and traditions, we will be missing God’s purposes. I feel responsible and passionate about connecting people with the Creator, the true God, in heart and soul. Over 2000 years ago, in Luke 10:1-24, Jesus sent His disciples to help people to know the Creator and be connected to Him. In 2020, Jesus is sending you and me. We are lambs among wolves. Can the world look at us and desire to be like us? Or Is the world looking at us like a limp lamb, an easy meal for the wolves? We, Christ’s church, have answers to all the world problems of this world. Yes, we do. The world is bold with their false zeal. So, we just need to live even bolder. And freedom and boldness come from being connected with the Creator.
Reflection
Church, are you connecting people’s souls to the Creator? Are you just going through the motions with rituals and traditions? How can we live bolder for Christ?
Prayer
God, Creator of all things, seen and unseen, please help us to live fearlessly in this last generation, where the wicked seem to be winning, but we know the battle is already won. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
