FAITH
Bible in A Year: Deuteronomy 23, Deuteronomy 24, Deuteronomy 25:1-19; Luke 16:19-31, Luke 17:1-10; Psalm 45:10-17
“The Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”

The Bible says faith is like a mustard seed. I want to share my three experiences of faith.
(1) Faith fulfills my hope and needs. After I got married, I asked God for children. My hope was that my eldest son would be a boy born on Friday and would serve God. My eldest son is a boy born on Friday, and now he is a pastor. He is good-looking. He loves and respects me. Because of my prayer in faith, my hope and needs were fulfilled.
(2) Faith gives me security. The manager of the forest asked me to get news about the elephants in Ain Daw Gyi, Kachin State in 1979. When I got to the place where elephants were kept, someone came out of a hut with a spear, and then another came out with a sword, followed by one more with a gun. They told me not to come into the hut. They taunted me, “Which way do you want to choose to go home? There is a muddy river that would be easy for you to choose.” That meant they would kill me and throw me in the river. I recited Psalms 46:1, 27:1, and 23:4. I thought of Daniel’s faith and took inspiration from him. God let me live and I was not hurt. Then, it happened again. I was taken as the Burmese soldiers’ porter (forced laborer). The ordeal lasted 45 days. I had to carry heavy loads in the rain. I got all drenched and then dried up in the same clothes. I didn’t get enough food or sleep. It was really bad. They kicked me, beat me with the yoke, struck me with the belt, and slapped me. I cried so many tears. They made us draw lots. They put 15 branches in their hands, 12 half-broken and three whole. They said if we picked the whole one, we got to go home. So, I prayed with the hope, drawn from John 14:14, “If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.” Then, I drew the lot. Because of my prayer in faith, I was safe again.
(3) Faith is everything. Faith is the most important thing for Christians. Faith, even the size of mustard seed, can do everything. A lack of faith is not God’s will. You can pray, but God would not listen. But, prayer with faith in the Name of Jesus pleases God. Because of my faith in God’s grace, God fulfilled my family needs and delivered me from death. Everyone of my children also have faith in God and serve in the church. “I have no greater joy than this: to hear about my children walking in truth” (3 John 1:4).
