THE WAYS OF THE MAN ARE IN FULL VIEW OF GOD

In 1996 was when I graduated from Bible school. I had a sister who lived in Thailand. I decided I would visit her since I finished Bible school. But, I did not know where Thailand was or how to get there. All I knew was my friend told me: “go to Mawlamyine, get on a boat, travel to Kyain Seik Gyi, and continue to Thailand.” His direction did not even paint any picture in my mind. I also did not know where Mawlamyaing or Kyain Seik Gyi was. In faith and prayer, I started my journey. I took a bus and arrived in Mawlamyine. It was near dusk. I did not know where to sleep. But, I had heard before that there were Karen people and churches in Mawlamyine. I saw a Burman man and asked him, “Where do the Karen people live?” He answered, “I don’t know.” I thought, “I am in trouble. It’s already late.” I hired a trishaw driver to take me to the hotel and I slept there one night. In the morning, I again took a trishaw and asked him to take me to a jetty to go to Kyainseikkyi. I got on the boat. I did not know in which direction Kyain Seik Gyi was. By the grace of God, about 10 minutes later, I met a young Karen man. I asked his name and he said, “Saw Leh Peh.” He told me he just came back from Yangon. He asked me who I was, where I was from, and where I was heading. I answered his questions and opened up to him about not having been to Kyain Seik Gyi before. He told me not to worry. He said we shared half of the journey together. He also told me he would find help for me once we had to go our separate ways. Thank you so much to this young man! His direction and help got me to my sister’s house. When God called Abraham to leave home and go to inherit a foreign land He did not know the way. But, God directed him.

Father God, we do not have a full view of the path to eternity. But you do. Please help us to see and direct our paths. In the name of Jesus of Nazareth I pray. Amen.
