TALENTS WE HAVE

Once, Jesus Christ taught his disciples regarding the second coming of Christ using the parable of the ten virgins. No one knows the day and the time when Jesus will come back. That is why Jesus taught us to keep watch.
Jesus also taught us using another parable. A man was going on a journey. He called his three servants and entrusted them with five talents, two talents, and one talent. This master told his servants to be in charge of these talents according to their ability. Upon returning, the master saw that the servant who had five talents gained five more and the servant who had two talents gained two more. The master said to them, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” However, the servant with one talent gained nothing more. The master called him a wicked servant and cast him to the darkness where there were weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Dear brothers and sisters, God gives each of us talents uniquely. It is God’s will that we do not bury the many or few talents he gives us. Instead, it is God’s will that we keep watch and multiply our God-given talents for His kingdom. If we are faithful, we will bring Glory to God.

Prayer
God, please help us not to bury our talents, but to keep watch and use them to the best of our ability until we hear, “Good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
