THANK YOU, GOD, FOR CARRYING ME THROUGH

In 1975, there was an order to evacuate due to instability in the country. My father was the head of the village. He gathered all the villagers and said, “When you move, move where you will be close to a church.” We left; some moved to Ler Doh Moo district, Wa Doh Kla village, while others moved to Takot Bwa village. When Sunday came, we gathered together and worshipped the Lord. Later, my father and church members talked about building a church. Villagers were also in agreement. We did not have land at that time. By the grace of God, Takot Bwa village gave us a plot of land to build a church. Once we had a building, we were happy but we did not have a pastor. The teachers and leaders requested my father to serve as a pastor. There were two congregations: Thawaw Daku and Noh Sheh churches. Because of a shortage of pastors, we united as one church. Because of God’s blessings, we were able not only to worship, but also start a mission school in the church building. The school offered education for pre-school to seventh grade. At that time, I only finished fifth grade. There was also a shortage of teachers so they asked me to help and teach. I felt extremely inadequate. However, the teachers encouraged me. I became a first-grade teacher and taught as I knew how. I also served as a youth leader in our church. In 1984, the situation got worse and we had to close down our mission school. But, the church and pre-school continued to be in operation. Later, our two congregations became strong and resourceful enough that we divided as two separate churches just as before. Today, these churches are still standing and representing God in Takot Bwa village.
By the grace of God, I got married and have seven children. We had to move to Maela Oo Refugee Camp in 2005. We were so poor we did not even have any offering when we went to church. I was worried my children would be embarrassed. God’s hand was with me and I got to work in the library there. In August 2011, God sent me and my entire family to America and also gave me a job. Moreover, God also uses me as a secretary in the Women’s Ministry.

God is carrying us through each day. How much time each day do we fellowship with God? How much do I let God use me for Him?
