‘‘သုဝဲဒၣ်အံၤသုမ့ၢ်ဟီၣ်ခိၣ်အအံသၣ်လီၤ. မ့မ့ၢ်အံသၣ်အဟီမ့ၢ်ဘျါဒီး ကဟီက့ၤဝဲလၢမနုၤတမံၤလဲၣ်. တဂိာ်တသီၣ်လၢၤဘၣ်တၢ်ဘၣ်, ဂိာ်ထဲပှၤကွံာ်တ့ၢ်ကွံာ်အီၤလၢခိ, ဒီးဘၣ်တၢ်ယီၢ်တံၢ်လၢပှၤကညီလီၤ.’’

ကွၢ်ကဒီးဖဲ (မးသဲ ၅:၁၁-၁၆) န့ၣ်စံးကဒီးဝဲ ‘‘တုၤပှၤဒုၣ်ဒွဲၣ်သု, မၤအၢမၤနးသု, ဒီးစံးအၢသုကဘျံးကဘျၣ်, လၢကယဲၢ်တၢ်အၢတၢ်သီအဃိဒီး သုဘၣ်ဆိၣ်ဂ့ၤဆိၣ်ဝါလီၤ.’’ စံးစ့ၢ်ကီးဝဲ သူၣ်ခုသးခု, သူၣ်ဖှံသးညီတက့ၢ်. ဒီပုၢ်ဝဲၢ်သ့ၣ်ဧၢ, အဒိပမ့ၢ်တဒိးန့ၢ်ဘၣ်ကစၢ်ခရံာ်အတၢ်သိၣ်လိပှၤ, ဟံးစုနဲၣ်ကျဲၤပှၤ, လဲၤဃုာ်တၢ်ဒီးပှၤသၢပျၢၤ, ပလဲၤခီဖျိတၢ်ကွၢ်ဆၢၣ်မဲာ်တဖၣ်ကသ့လၢကျဲဒ်လဲၣ်. အဃိ ပလိၣ်ဘၣ်တၢ်အသဟီၣ်လၢအကဲဘျုးကဲဖှိၣ်လၢ အဟဲခီဖျိလၢကစၢ်ခရံာ်အအိၣ်န့ၣ်လီၤ. သတးဒီး, မ်ပကကဲထီၣ်အံသၣ်လၢအဟီ, အိၣ်ဒီးန့ဆၢၣ်လၢအမ့ၢ်ဝဲ –

၂. မၤဂ့ၤထီၣ်တၢ် – မၤဂ့ၤထီၣ်တၢ်ဖံးတၢ်ညၣ် ဒ်သိးအသုတအုၣ်သံကျၣ်သံတဂ့ၤလီၤ.
၃. မၤဝံၣ်မၤဘဲထီၣ်တၢ် – တၢ်အီၣ်တၢ်အီတအိၣ်ဒီးအံသၣ်န့ၣ် ပှၤအီၣ်တဘဲနီတဂၤဘၣ်.

A USEFUL FORCE

“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.”

We, dwellers of this earth, have values and wisdom because of God’s grace. In Matthew 5:13, using the example of salt, Jesus Christ taught us to be a force that is useful like salt. Dear brothers and sisters, this is the time to accept and obey Christ’s teaching to the crowd, his disciples, you and me. The word of God in Matthew 5:3-10 tells us that those who are poor in spirit, meek, merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, and those who are persecuted because of righteousness will be blessed.
Also appeared in Matthew 5:11-16 is that when we are insulted, persecuted, and falsely accused because of Christ, we are blessed. These are reasons to rejoice and be glad. Had it not been for Christ’s teaching, guiding, and walking with us, how can we face trials? That is why we need a useful force that comes from Christ, the salt which has the nature of:
- Cleanliness – Quality salt looks clean and white.
- Betterment – Salt cures and makes the meat better so it is not spoiled.
- Enhancement – Salt enhances the taste. Without salt food does not taste good.
Christian religion must naturally be a useful force. The usefulness and fruitfulness of salt is a light to many. The light has the nature of transmitting brightness and warnings. Finally, Matthew 5:17-20 teaches us that Jesus came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. Let us be the salt that transmits a useful force and the light that shines the light of Jesus, and thereby, fulfilling the law.
Reflection
There are useful and harmful forces. Salt without saltiness is good only for throwing out and trampling underfoot. Am I salty or not?
Prayer
God, please help me so I am not the salt that loses its saltiness and becomes useless. Instead, make me the salt that is a useful force. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
