DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL

Under the reign of King Jehoiakim in B.C. 605, Babylon conquered Jerusalem for the first time. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, took the treasures from the temple of the Lord and put them in his temple in Babylon. In essence, Nebuchadnezzar was declaring his god was greater than the God of Judah. He was arrogant. He enjoyed the richness of God’s provisions, but he rebelled against God. At night when he was asleep, God’s judgment fell on him. He became like a beast, lowering his stature to an animal’s level.
Just as God blessed Nebuchadnezzar, God has been blessing us. We also faced difficulties on this journey on earth. However, if we thoroughly examine our life experiences, we will see the evidences of God delivering us from evil to the point where He brought us to this blessed country filled with riches. This is God’s provision.
As parents we must teach our children about the living God, and that if we fear Him, exalt Him, and know His abundant grace in our lives, we will be blessed both physically and spiritually. Solomon said that no matter how high the learning you have, if you do not fear God, it is vain. Wherever you go, God is there. He is there to guide us, strengthen us, and give us peace. We can’t go to a place where God is not. We can’t see Him but He is omnipresent.

What are you proud of? Your richness and possessions? In which things do you place importance? What is the evidence that you fear God and follow His instruction?
Prayer
God, we thank you for being with us at all times and delivering us from evil. Teach us to fear You, love You, and depend on You. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
