GOD KEEPS ME ALIVE

I praise God for rescuing me from fears and worries. It was in August 1990 when we encountered the enemy. I had five children then. I just gave birth to my youngest son only a few days before. My husband went to work in a shop in Saw Tah village. Everyone fled so I followed them. Because I had an infant, I was not able to carry much with me except for two or three cloth diapers, a pot, and a handful of rice. My oldest son was only nine. He could not carry anything. A friend took us to a boat. On that boat, people had money and food. They were cooking and eating. My daughters wanted to eat what they had, but they would not share. Then the boat engine broke down, so we could not go further. We were left stranded on the river. There was no food. We spent a day and a night hungry. Later, a friend came by and left a pot and a handful of rice. But he immediately left. We were alone in the deep jungle on the shore of the Salween River, far away from villages and people. We were drenched when it rained, and we were bone-dry when it was hot. My son ran a high fever and I was so discouraged. We were stuck there for two weeks. Then, we saw a boat and I waved at them. The man from the boat looked at us and felt sorry for us. He took us to a refugee camp. It was only because of God’s grace and blessing. Shortly after, I had a major illness because of the effect of getting stuck in the rain after just giving birth. I had to stay in bed for two years. But, God kept me alive. In 1995, I gradually got better because of prayers. On November 30, 2010, God brought us to America. Now, I have strength. I live and eat well by God’s grace and blessing.

God is keeping me alive and He is keeping you alive.
