TRUST IN THE LORD
Bible in A Year: Joshua 13, Joshua 14; Luke 24:36-53; Psalm 52:1-9
“But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house. I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever.”

David’s trust was in God’s unfailing love. When we place our trust in God, we become like a flourishing olive tree, like David described. That means we become fruitful in our lives, our church, our community, and our world. Sometimes, I put my trust in myself or people, instead of God. The result is a bad tree with bad fruit.
When I was in high school in my senior year, we had to take the Arizona Aptitude Inventory Measurement Service (AIMS) test in order to graduate. The test included reading, writing and math. I had two chances to pass the tests. I was extremely nervous on the day I had to take the tests. I passed reading and math tests, but failed the writing test. I got so upset that I cried alone in my room, so no one would see me. I dared not tell my parents for I was afraid they would yell at me for not working hard enough. I was afraid to take the test and waited and waited. Time went by and finally the last test date was almost up. I was stressed. Then, it dawned on me all these times I had been relying on myself and did not ask God for help. I thought I would have to do this all on my own. As a young believer, I missed the most important thing. Then, I knelt down and prayed, “God, I really need a miracle. My trust is in you.” God told me to study hard for two weeks and I did. I stayed after school and got extra help. The olive tree was beginning to respond to how the gardener was shaping and molding it. I prayed with all my heart, put my trust in the Lord, and took the test. A week later, I checked the result online and I passed the test. God is worthy of our trust and praise because of His unfailing love. I graduated from high school and continued to attend college. In Him, I have faith and confidence.

Prayer
God, take my heart, my desire and my life, and transform them to the way You want them. I want to grow in my relationship and trust You more. Please walk with me on this journey on earth and help me connect with You more. I need You God, how I need You! In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
