THE GOD WHO HEARS OUR CALL
Bible in A Year: Numbers 4, Numbers 5:1-10; Luke 1:57-80; Psalm 34:11-22

We read about Zechariah the Priest and his wife, Elizabeth, in Luke 1:57-80. They both were “righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.” Although they were righteous, they were old and did not have children. They were barren. They were looked down upon. How hard and discouraging that must have been for them! However, the righteous cried out and God heard them. Luke 1:13 says, “But the angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zacharias, because your request has been heard. Your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.”
One day, I looked at my bank account. The school would withdraw $1,200 from my account soon, and only $68 would be left in the account. How am I supposed to live with that money? I kneeled down and cried out to the Lord. I praised God for the good health I have. I told God, “You are my father. You are rich. You see my needs. Thank you.” In the morning, I received a check in the amount of $300. In the past, I loaned this money to someone and I got it back when I desperately needed it. Be true to God. He will hear your cry.
Reflection
What changes need to take place in your life to seek righteousness more?
Nowadays, many people are facing hardship, sickness, and scarcity. But, God taught us that we did not starve, and He did not forsake us. God is alway watching out for us. One thing we must do is seek righteousness and be true to Him until the day we die.
Prayer
Thank you, God. In good times or bad times, teach us to cry to You in love, faith, and righteousness. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
