UNITY, PATIENCE, AND HUMILITY

“Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all the men who were on the surface of the earth.”

The scripture, Numbers 12:3, tells us that God saw Moses as a very patient and humble person. If you think about Moses taking the Israelites to the Promised Land, he faced many challenges. He had to face his people, brothers and sisters blaming him. Today unity is hard to find, in a family or in an entire community. Many clashes abound. If the older brother does well, the younger brother is unhappy; if the young brother does well, the older brother is unhappy. I witnessed this happening in a village. Family members fought for their parents’ inheritance and ended up fighting, hating and even killing each other. All of this happened because of pride. Pride can lead to damaging divisions and even death. Therefore, it is essential that we practice humility, patience and forgiveness. Otherwise, there will never be growth. And there will never be any peace. Psalm 133:1 says, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Unity will be possible only if we are willing to humble ourselves.
Reflection
What are the causes that create divisions in the family and among brothers and sisters? On earth, the most peaceful place should be home, family, and brothers and sisters.
Prayer
Dear Father God, please help us and make the wrong right for us among brothers and sisters and in homes. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
