PATIENCE
Bible in A Year: Numbers 16:36-50, Numbers 17, Numbers 18; Luke 5:17-32; Psalm 37:10-20
“But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”

Patience is extremely important in our lives. The Bible teaches us that if we have patience (a character of humility and gentleness), we will inherit the land. God’s word told us Moses was extremely patient in delivering his people to the Promised Land. Jesus also promised in Matthew 5:5, “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.” Patience requires time and hope. Our Karen people have been waiting for our own nation for more than 70 years. We have to be patient years after years. If it is God’s will, He can give us not just one country. He can give us more than 70 countries, and even the entire world. That is why our hope to have our own nation can stay alive.
Characteristics of patience are (1) self-control, (2) no anger, (3) humility, (4) self-restraint, (5) calm mind, (6) expectation, and (7) perseverance.
Let us not forsake our hope to inherit our own nation. Instead, let us be patient and hope to enjoy peace and prosperity.
