A TWENTY-YEAR-LONG PRAYER

I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity to share my testimony. I was married in 1994. The period of happiness that came with the marriage was brief and I was battered with sorrow and stress afterwards. I regretfully thought to myself that it would have been better if I had stayed single instead of looking for trouble. However, I prayed on and on unceasingly with all my heart, as crying over spilt milk is useless.
I fasted and fervently prayed for God to help my husband turn over a new leaf and use him for His ministry. My prayer was finally answered after praying unceasingly for twenty years, and I felt that our God is a living God and He is closely watching us. As a result of my prayer, God is now using my husband, Htoo Wah, in His ministries. “Rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer” (Romans 12:12) is my motto. God is my strength and I shall never feel weariness.
Reflection
What do you notice when you are waiting for the answer to your prayers, when they are yet to be fulfilled or when they are finally answered? “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Prayer
Dear God, give us strength so that we may not give up easily and help us to always find hope in You. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
