BE STEADFAST IN YOUR FAITH

My family and I were mountain-dwellers. What we earned for working in the morning, we spent for sustenance that morning. What we earned for working in the evening, we spent for sustenance that evening. Our family practiced Buddhism. In doing so, if others came and talked about the Bible and Jesus we tried to argue and reject strongly. However, the day came unexpectedly when the Spirit touched our hearts and we desired to receive Christ and get baptized. Almost a year went by and exactly on May 24, 1989, my family members got baptized as believers. Not long afterwards, trials and temptations set in. Within a year, my 67-year-old mother, my 35-old-brother and his three-month-old child, and my 18-year-old sister died. Words and thoughts went around with this overt or insinuating message, “You faced all these multiple tragic losses because you got baptized. Becoming a Christian is bad. Go back to your old faith.” Our family decided we would be steadfast in our faith. We had a conversation and agreed on this, “Retracting is not an option. If we all had to die as believers in Christ, we will.” By the grace of God, things worked out for us until today. We read in Proverbs 4:26-27, “Make the path of your feet level. Let all of your ways be established. Don’t turn to the right hand nor to the left. Remove your foot from evil.”

What is shaking your faith these days?
The faith that does not doubt or disintegrate will not render defeat.
Be steadfast and resolute in everything, and the victory and glory will be yours.
Prayer
God, please help me to be steadfast in my faith to the day when I see you face to face. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
