GOD’S CHILDREN MUST LEAD
A HOLY LIFE FOR GOD

“When you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Yahweh, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted.”

Praise God for guiding our lives for His glory! No matter how many troubles we have, God blesses us with the opportunities to glorify Him in many ways. Leviticus 22:29 reminds us that we are God’s children and we are to sacrifice a thank offering of our best to Him. We read in Leviticus 22:33, “Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. I am Yahweh.” God is the only Creator and Sanctifier of our lives. To respond appropriately to Him, we are to sanctify our mind and body for His glory.
God’s children should sanctify their heart and mind for God’s glory – “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit” (Psalm 51:10-12). David loved and revered God, who cared for him and granted him success in life. However, the worldly flesh enticed him when he saw Uriah’s wife, Bathsheba, taking a bath. He plotted Uriah’s death and took Bethsheba. The worldly flesh needs to be restrained and the heart needs to be sanctified to obey God.
God’s children should sanctify their word and deed for God’s glory – “Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.” (Colossians 3:17). Often, non-believers look at Christians and see no difference in our word and deed. Christ is criticized because of our word and deed. 1 Samuel 25:1-39 tells us that Nabal was rude in word and deed. Consequently, David was going to kill him and his followers. However, because Abigail’s prudent word and deed, they were spared. Also read Proverbs 15:1 and Galatians 6:9-10. There is a saying, “We will reap as we sow.” If we lead a holy life in word and deed, we will glorify God.
Reflection
As a child of God, what do you sow? Remember the blood of God’s son cleansed you and made you holy.

Dear Father God, bless our mind, word, and deed to glorify you. We thank you and ask you in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
