‘‘အဂ့ၢ်ဒ်အံၤယကကွၢ်မဲာ်သု ယကဒုးသၣ်ထီၣ်သု ဒီး မၤအါထီၣ်သု, ဒီး ဒုးအိၣ်ဂၢၢ်ဆိးကျၢၤယတၢ်အၢၣ်လီၤအီလီၤဒီးသုလီၤ.’’

လၢအပူၤကွံာ်နံၣ် ယဝဲၢ်သရၣ်စီၤခွါဟဲဟးအိၣ်သကိးယၤ ဖဲကၠီၣ်ကၠံၣ်ယၢ်ကီၢ်စဲၣ်လီၤ. အဝဲမံအိၣ်သကိးယၤ, ဒီး တထံၣ်လိာ်ဘၣ်ပသးယံာ်အဃိ ပကတိၤကီၣ်ကးသကိးတၢ် တုၤဒၣ်လဲာ်ပသးပ့ၤနီၣ်မံလီၤ. ပကတိၤသကိးတၢ် တုၤလၢဂီၤခီခံနၣ်ရံၣ်တခီ ယယီၣ်ဘၣ်အီၤအဃိ, ယတဲအီၤ, ‘‘သရၣ်ဧၢနဘၣ်ဟဲနီၣ်သိလ့ၣ်တၢ်ဒ့ၣ်စၢၤဖးယံၤအဃိ နကလီၤဘှံးလီၤ. မံအိၣ်ဘှံးစၢ်ခီ.’’ အဝဲကတိၤဆၢယၤလၢတၢ်ကတိၤလိာ်လ့, ‘‘ယဆိကမိၣ်နသါတဒုးမံလၢၤယၤ ဘၣ်ခီ, နသးဆးဒံးကစီဒီ.’’ ပနံၤသကိး, ဆၢဂ့ၤလိာ်သးဝံၤ, ဒီးပမံသကိးမုာ်မုာ်လၢကစၢ်ယွၤအဘျုးအဃိလီၤ.

GOD’S FAVOR

Once, my friend, Brother Saw Kwa, visited me in Georgia. He spent the night. Since we had not seen each other for a long time, we talked and talked and forgot to sleep. When it was 2:30 am in the morning, out of respect for him, I said, “Teacher, you must be tired having driven a long distance. You should probably sleep.” He teased me back, “I thought you would never allow me to sleep. You are thoughtful after all.” We laughed, said goodbye, and slept well by God’s grace. In the morning when we had breakfast, we ate and talked and talked again. We had a great time. Among many things exchanged, one thing he said that I could never forget was, “God looks on you with favor.” I reflected on my life and experiences. Although I have many weaknesses and shortcomings, God mercifully loves me one-sided and uses me in the work of the Gospel up to this point. I accept and admit what Brother Saw Kwa said, “God looks on me with favor.” It is not because of my goodness, righteousness, or perfection, but because of God’s goodness, righteousness, and perfection. We learned from Mark 16:14-15 that when Jesus appeared to His disciples after the resurrection, He had to rebuke them for their lack of faith. Yet, He still gave them a mighty job of preaching the Gospel to the entire world. When Jesus was arrested, the disciples deserted Him. When Jesus arose from death, the disciples were still doubtful. Yet, Jesus returned to them, gave them the opportunity, and used them for His kingdom work. This is a testament of God’s one-sided love, looking with favor on His children, those of us who believe in Christ. We do not serve God first, but He first serves us. He uses us not because of our perfection, but because of His perfection and mercy. Today, repent, humble yourself, and return to God. He will look on you with favor.

Prayer
Dear Father God, thank you for loving me one-sided, looking on me with favor, and using me in your work. Give me your Spirit, sanctify me, keep me grounded, and use me as you wish. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
