Kindness

 Week 27

Kindness

“For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.

Isaiah 54:7-8

The love and kindness of humans come with a ruler. When the ruler measures that we are not so loveable, human kindness quickly dissipates. But God’s love and kindness for us does not bear upon our loveliness or a lack thereof. Although God has shown infinite kindness to our Karen people in our journey, we are prone to disobedience and self-indulgence. We do not get along. We fight and disunite. Sometimes, we might even question if God still loves us because of our sin? Today, may this scripture reassure you of God’s eternal love and kindness for you!

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;  (Psalm 103:8-11)

Dear God, thank you for your love and kindness that never changes or fails us. Help us to be kind to one another as You are to us. We pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
